A refugee-led organization empowering communities through regenerative agriculture, education, and sustainable livelihoods in Nakivale, Uganda.
Unidos Social Innovation Center was established in 2018 by a group of refugees living in Nakivale to address food insecurity and create livelihood opportunities after food rations were drastically reduced.
Today, we serve over 20,000 refugees from Congo, Burundi, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Sudan. We address hunger crises and create livelihoods through regenerative approaches that restore both land and hope.
Our mission is to empower young refugees through appropriate training and teach them inclusive entrepreneurial skills that enable them to create their own jobs and opportunities.
Comprehensive initiatives that address education, agriculture, and economic empowerment.
English courses, business training, and leadership development programs that equip refugees with the skills they need to thrive.
Organic soap making, mushroom cultivation, and tree planting programs that create sustainable income for women in the community.
Natural farming training, soil regeneration through vermicomposting, food forest design, and waste recycling techniques.
Established 6 food forests promoting biodiversity while equipping new arrivals with farming tools and knowledge.
